A Japanese gyutoh chef's knife with a beautiful design. A good chef's knife is the cornerstone of your knife set and a must-have knife in any kitchen. It is often described as the kitchen's manual food processor, and is used to chop, cut and dice all types of ingredients. The blade is convex so that the knife can easily be "rocked" against the cutting board with a minimum of force.

Satake Ame is a beautiful series of knives with power, strength, balance and tradition as key words in the design. The name Ame is Japanese and means rain, something that the magazine's design has inspired. The blade's so-called "Rain Pattern" is not only beautiful to the eye but also means that raw materials such as potatoes are not sucked onto the blade side when cutting.

  • 21 cm Gyuto, chef's knife
  • Hand-tapped blade of 5 layers of AUS10 steel
  • The hardness of the blade is 60-61 HRC
  • Bolster & end piece in stainless steel
  • Incredibly beautiful handle by Vril * from, among other things, larch, peach tree, camphor & maple
  • (NOTE! All handles are completely unique, and image must be seen as an example only)

* Vril - or masur as it is also called, is an outgrowth on a tree where the fibers go in different directions instead of vertically. Vril/Masur wood is much sought after because it is incredibly beautiful and harder than ordinary wood.
