In 2008, Victorinox won the public procurement made by the Swiss military for the next version of the official "army knife". The contract means that Victorinox can deliver 75,000 pocket tools to the Swiss defense, in short, all conscripts get their own knife.

This means that Victorinox are the only ones who have the right to call themselves "the Swiss Army Knife" or "the Swiss Army Knife".
